Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar annual day

Hyderabad, February 15: Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Bagh Amberpet, celebrated their Annual Cultural and Sports Day on February 9 with former DGP H.J. Dora attending as the chief guest.

The programme which began with a Guard of Honour for the chief guest and marchpast, had a range of events such as duck-walking, music in circle, and dodge-ball for primary school children, and hurdles, relay race, and 100-metre running race for high school students.

Flower display by primary school children, display of Yoga pyramids and live Karate feats by middle-school children and a performance on agriculture and harvest festival by the high school students entertained the audience.

The children also rendered the Telugu version of ‘Sare Jahan se Achcha’ penned by poet C. Narayan Reddy.

A student, L. Mounica of Class X, was declared the Sports Person of the Year with a cash award of Rs.5,000 and a trophy.

Model Mission High School

The Model Mission High School, Bolarum celebrated its Annual Day on February 3 with the theme Euphoria-2011. DIG, CISF, B. Chandrashekhar, attended as the chief guest. Secunderabad Public School

‘Prajval’, an event to showcase knowledge, was organised by the Secunderabad Public School recently, with Dean Faculty of Electronics MCEME Brigadier Shyam Srivastav as the chief guest and HoD, Department of Chemical Biology Manika Pal Bhadra as the guest of honour.

Tiny tots displayed their numerical and literary skills through displays such as ‘Number World’ and ‘My world of Alphabets’ while the primary sections showcased exhibits describing about community helpers, safety awareness and journey to the universe.

One attraction was the ‘Planetarium’ displayed by the high school students. An English quiz, ‘Language Quotient’, was organised.

Vamakshi Vidyaniketanam High School

The ‘Saraswathi Suktam’ from the Rig Veda was recited by the tiny tots of Shree Bhageerathi Naga Bhushana Dixitulu Veda Vignana Nilayam of the Vamakshi Vidyaniketanam High School on the occasion of ‘Basant Panchami’ celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi on February 8.

Deputy Speaker of the Assembly N. Manohar Kumar was the chief guest.
