Hyderabad, September 4: A wine shop is situated at Chandrayangutta road which is surrounded by Muslim localities. The wine business is at its peak since Eid-ul-Fitr. The people living nearby have to say that costumers come in groups of 4 or 5 in autos and cars to have a glass of wine. Ofcourse use and throw glasses are available near wine shop.
I saw that most of them were Muslims and almost all had worn Eid dress i.e. white Kurta pajama. They were between the age group of 20 to 30 years. They rush towards the wine shop as if it was the office of E-seva or they were applying for scholarship.
Those who tipped off had to say that “Brother! It was quite peaceful during Ramadan. There was no such crowd on the wine shop but such crowd exists the remaining 11 month of the year.
No one had the slightest idea that they were spending their hard earned money on “ummul khabais” the mother of evils. We find many drunkards lying unconscious near road dividers. No one wants to lend them a helping hand. Drinking leads to several evils but it is unfortunate that even Muslims who know that it is prohibited in Islam don’t care for that. It leads to domestic quarrels and sometimes results in divorce.
People working for society reformation should pay attention towards this issue.
