Marri Sasidhar Reddy, Vice Chairman of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has tendered his resignation from the post.
It may be recalled that Narendra Modi government is seeking resignations of UPA nominees in various posts. As part of that, the Union government sought resignations of members of NDMA. Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami called the members of NDMA and asked them to resign. And Reddy immediately resigned from the post. The Union government had also called for the resignations of chairpersons of National Commission for Women and National Commission for SCs and STs. (NSS)
