Sarve says Sona gave him a ticket despite YSR opposition

Union Minister Sarve Sathyanarayana on Monday disclosed that AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi gave him party ticket for MP seat in the last election though then chief minister late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy opposed it.

Speaking to the media here on Monday after meeting AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s emissary Amar Kale, Sarve said several leaders were eyeing on his Malkajgiri MP seat now. He exuded confidence that he would win by five lakh majority in the 2014 elections. He said the Malkajgiri ticket will be allotted to him even for the coming elections.

Stating that he has full confidence that Sonia Gandhi would carve out separate Telangana State, Sarve said consultations on Telangana were still going on. He said the party was getting trouble due to rebel leaders and it is not correct on the part of the leadership to neglect the rebel leaders. He said there was a need for the leadership to settle the lack of coordination within the party.
