Former Union Minister Sarve Satyanarayana on Monday claimed that lack of sufficient funds was one of the reason why he lost last election from the Malkajgiri constituency.
Speaking to media persons after participating in the review meeting conducted by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah at Gandhi Bhavan here, Sarve said that while there were no differences within the Congress cadre in Malkajgri constitutency, the party could not match or even get closer to the money spent by other parties. He said that voters hailing from the Seemandhra region played a decisive role in the outcome of elections. He said pro-Samaikhyandhra people have exercised their vote against the Congress party in protest against the formation of Telangana State.
Sarve Satyanarayana said that the Congress party would work hard to win back the confidence of the people. He said that the party would give prominence to youth in the GHMC elections. (INN)
