Former Union Minister Sarve Satyanarayana on Saturday advised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to support the candidature of Meira Kumar in the Presidential elections.
Speaking to media persons here, Sarve said that the Telangana Bill was passed under the chairmanship of the then Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and therefore, KCR should support her as a thanksgiving for formation of Telangana.
Sarve said there was no representation of women in KCR’s cabinet and he did not fulfill the promise of making a Dalit first Chief Minister of Telangana. By supporting Meira Kumar in the Presidential elections, KCR could compensate for his past mistake, he said.
The Congress leader said if TRS fails to support Meira Kumar’s candidature, then it would be viewed as anti-Dalit and anti-women. (INN)
