Telangana Sarpanches Association president Bhumanna Yadav and Secretary Venkat Goud today extended gratitude to the government for agreeing to release directly the funds of 14th finance commission.
The association met with Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao at Secretariat here and extended thanks for the decision to extend all help for strengthening the village panchayats. Earlier, the association held a meeting with ministers E Rajender, T Harish Rao and Krishna Rao at Assembly premises on the same issue. Bhumanna said that the ministers agreed to give funds and necessary support for the villages to be flourished. We will put in continuous efforts to develop our villages they said and added that the ministers accepted to withdraw a decision to freeze the power supply, give Rs 5 lakh for cc roads, three phase line for street lights and pay arrears of 10 per cent against 30 per cent. They also said that the government has released Rs 45.16 cr to unanimously elected Panchayats, released Rs 13.4 cr towards payment of honorarium increased to Rs 5000 from Rs 1500 a month. They said that the state government accepted to address all our demands. (NSS)
