Sarkozy & Carla to visit India later this year, Cameron in July

Toronto, June 27: French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his spouse Carla Bruni will visit India later this year while British Prime Minister David Cameron will travel to India in July, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash said here last night.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who is here to attend the G20 Summit, had separate bilateral meetings with both the leaders here this evening on the sidelines of the Summit and discussed India-UK and India-France relations and G20 which got off this evening amid violence and protest demonstrations.

During his first bilateral meeting with the British Prime Minister, Dr Singh congratulated him on getting elected and said he looked forward to his visit.

As leader of the Opposition, Mr Cameron had visited India in 2006. Both leaders expressed happiness at the state of bilateral elations.

”An invitation has already been extended and he will be visiting India in July,” the spokesman said, adding that Dr Singh told him that he was looking forward to the visit.
