‘Sanju’ becomes fourth highest grossing Hindi film, beats ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’

Mumbai: Bollywood biopic ‘Sanju’, based on the life of Sanjay Dutt, recently has beaten Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle and wrote, ” #Sanju biz at a glance… Week 1: 202.51 cr Week 2: 92.67 cr Week 3: 31.62 cr Week 4: 10.48 cr Weekend 5: 2.47 cr Total: 339.75 cr India biz. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER”.

According to the report published in Times Now, after 31 days at the box-office, Sanju made Rs. 399.75 crore whereas the lifetime business of Tiger Zinda Hai was Rs. 339 crore at the domestic box-office. Sanju is also very close to the total business done by Aamir Khan’s PK. Sanju may overtake PK in terms of total business.

It may be mentioned that the movie had earned Rs 202.51 crore in the opening week, thus surpassing the first-week collections of ‘Dangal’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ in the Indian Box Office. ‘Sanju’, which hit the big screens on June 29, rocked the box office as it earned a whopping Rs 120.06 crore in its opening weekend.

Written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Sanju’ stars Ranbir as Sanjay Dutt, along with Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Jim Sarbh and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles.
