Abhay Chautala is the Indian National Lok Dal candidate for the Haryana Assembly by-election from Ellenabad. Shetty says, “Sanju and I campaigned for Abhay bhaisaab as we are very close friends and not out of any political affiliations.

In fact, the friendship between the three of us goes back at least 30 years. I only go campaigning for friends and 99 per cent of the people I campaign for belong to the Congress party.”

Here’s why!
Expanding on his election campaigns, Sunil clarifies, “I don’t have any other political agenda nor do I have any intention of joining politics. While campaigning but only talk about what a good human being he is and that he will make a difference to society.

Abhay bhaisaab is a friend and as the President of the Indian Boxing Federation (IBF) he has done a lot for sports especially wrestling and boxing. In fact he has helped Haryana a lot in boxing and in acquiring medals in Olympics. I and Sanju will always be there for him.”

Sunil adds that Sanju has also adopted a T-10 gully cricket team in Sirsa, “Though I am not buying a team I will help Sanju any way I can. I need to be there for my team and time is a constraint. I recently launched the Pune Premier League where four boys from the talukas were selected. That’s at the grassroot level. We need sports talents to come from there too.”
