Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangma today met Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu here and sought the party’s support for his candidature in Presidential election. Talking to newsmen after the meeting, Mr Naidu said he would take a decision after discussing the issue in the party’s politburo meeting.
Mr Sangma said, “I came here to seek the support of Mr Naidu who is a prominent political leader of the country.” The former Lok Sabha Speaker said they discussed about the Presidential election and also the prevailing political situation in the country. Replying to a query, Mr Sangama said he had sought an appointment with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee but response was awaited from her. UNI
