Sangma meets Naidu over Presidential elections

Former Speaker of Lok Sabha and an aspirant for President of India’s post P A Sangma on Monday called upon Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu seeking his party’s support for his candidature in the presidential election scheduled to be held in July.

Talking to media persons at party office after meeting with Naidu, Sangma said that Naidu assured him that he would take a decision on supporting his candidature after discussing the issue in the politburo meeting once the by-elections in 18 Assembly segments concludes. He said that apart from the presidential elections, they also discussed the prevailing political scenario in the country.

Replying to a question, the former Lok Sabha Speaker said that he sought an appointment with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee but was yet to get a response from her. (INN)
