Sangakkara admits fielding lapses cost them heavily

Mohali, December 12: After failing to capitalise on the chance to level the two-match T20 International series, Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara tonight said that the Indians exploited the conditions in a better way while fielding lapses had cost the visitors heavily.

“The Indians exploited the conditions in a much better way. The total on the board (206) should have been enough, but we missed some catches and run out chances. We were not that disciplined in the field today,” Sangakkara told reporters here after Lanka lost by six wickets.

He said for winning matches, they had to field well.

“If we have to win, catches must be held,” he said.

Replying to a question, he said there was no safe score as such in this format of the game.
