Samta Singhee was crowned Kitchen Queen 2013 in the final cookery competition jointly conducted by the Hindu MetroPlus and Freedom Refined Flower Oil. She won 1st position in the contest among 36 candidates. Fouzia Nahid was first runner-up and K. Shoba was the second runner-up.
The four week long search for the “Kitchen Queen” of Hyderabad initiated by Freedom Refined Sunflower Oil culminated on Saturday at IHM auditorium Vidyanagar. 1400 candidates participated in the qualifying rounds out of whom 36 were selected for finale in which participants were given a workstation and 3 hours to prepare a main course and a dessert from scratch.
Samta Singhee bagged 1st prize of Rs 15000, Fouzia Naheed bagged 2nd prize of Rs. 10000 and K. Shoba got 3rd prize of Rs. 5000.
