New Delhi: As part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘Sampark se Samarthan’ (Contact for Support) campaign, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Thursday met star cricketer Virender Sehwag at his farmhouse here.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi likes to have a direct interaction with the people of the country. That’s his style of working. This (‘Sampark for Samarthan’) is a unique initiative under which we are meeting the achievers of the society who have great influence on people,” Rathore said after meeting Sehwag.
“Under the same, we take suggestions from these achievers as to how they feel we can do to get better results in our governance. Sehwag has given great suggestions like how can make use of school grounds under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Also, he shared how sportspersons can motivate today’s youth,” he added.
Rathore was accompanied by Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari.
After meeting Sehwag, Rathore and Tiwari took a ride in the Delhi Metro.
Launched in May this year by BJP president Amit Shah, the ‘Sampark se Samarthan’ initiative was devised to generate awareness about the Prime Minister Modi-led government’s achievements in the last four years. (ANI)
