Samjhauta blast: NIA officials visit village in MP

Indore, January 17: A team of National Investigative Agency (NIA) officials probing the Samjhauta Express Blast had recently visited Giroda village near here in connection with the murder of Ramprasad Kalouta who had allegedly helped an accused in the case, police sources said.

Kalouta, a resident of the village, had allegedly helped late Sunil Joshi, an accused in different bomb blasts including the 2007 Samjhauta blast, they said.

Officials are probing whether Kalouta’s assassination has any links with the Joshi murder case, they said.

Joshi was killed in Dewas district in December 2007 while Kalouta’s body was found under suspicious circumstances near a rail track under Sanver police station area in June 2008.

Initially, police thought that Kalouta had committed suicide but detailed investigations revealed that he was murdered.

Giroda village was on the radar of Rajasthan ATS also following the alleged involvement of Kalouta in the Ajmer Dargah blast, police said.
