After facing strong criticism of pro-Telangana groups for not supporting the statehood demand, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has now become the target of integrationists.
In a novel protest against Naidu for giving a letter supporting the formation of Telangana State, the Samaikhyandhra Political JAC leaders on Sunday erected a “To-Let” board at the district TDP office. According to JAC Convener JT Rama Rao, the TDP chief has betrayed the people of Seemandhra region by supporting the Telangana State. He also asked the integrationists to boycott Naidu’s Vastunna Mee Kosam padayatra in the Rayalaseema and Andhra regions.
It may be mentioned that in a fresh letter given to Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde during the All-Party meeting on the issue on December 28, Naidu supported the formation of Telangana by stating that it stands by its earlier letter submitted on October 18, 2008, wherein it described the statehood for the region as a “historic necessity”. The TDP also promised to take legal, constitutional and political steps for the creation of Telangana. (INN)
