Mumbai, June 11: For two lovebirds, who are known for their opposite temperaments and dud chemistry, Salman and Katrina seem to have more in common than what meets the eye. The couple, whose tumultuous relationship has been nothing short of a soap opera– courtesy the unending juicy B-town gossip, is now headed on the philanthropist route to seek solace.
Walking on different paths yet headed in the same direction, Salman and Katrina were recently seen in a give away mode. While Katrina has done away with some of her most priced possessions to raise money for her mother’s orphanage, Salman bought smiles to ‘Slumdog’ star Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail.
According to the latest Bollywood news, Kat is going all out to raise awareness about her mother Susanna’s orphanage, Mercy Home in Chennai. The actress has decided to not only to auction some of her film costumes but also her accessories and personal belongings to set up a prenatal care centre.
Confirming the news, Katrina said, “Yes, I will be helping my mother to raise a fund of Rs 50 lakh, which is the amount required. (Auction) It will create awareness and motivate people to come forward, which will further help the cause”.
And as for Sallu, who is as famous for his idiosyncratic ways as his golden heart, he has gifted a battery-operated bike worth Rs 15000 to Azhar. Buzz has it that Azhar wanted to own the bike for years but his poor financial state acted as bane for him. However, the child’s dream turned into a reality thanks to Sallu’s heart-warming gesture on the sets of ‘Dus Ka Dum’.
Talking about the touchy incident, a source told a news daily, “Salman was doing a children`s special shoot with Darsheel Safary, Tanay Chheda and Azhar for ‘10 Ka Dum’ and while he was talking to the ‘Slumdog’ kid, he learnt that Azhar was his big fan and that he was longing to own a bike. Azhar had seen such a bike before in the stores or with kids of his age group who hail from affluent families. The most emotional moment for Salman came when Azhar told him that his dream will always remain a dream as he comes from a poor family and that his parents don`t have the money to gift him a bike.”
Well be it their childish egos or humanitarian ways, Sallu and Kat are just two of a kind.
