Hyderabad, January 17: A petty argument over ‘sharing of food’ between two workers of a cloth store led to the killing of one by the other at Malkajgiri late on Saturday night.
The victim was hit by a dumbbell on the head leading to instant death, police said.
According to police, the duo, P Rakesh (25) and Madhu, salesmen at a cloth store at Malkajgiri, were staying in a room provided by their employer.
Late on Saturday night, the duo reportedly had a quarrel over a petty issue, police said.
In the night, while Rakesh was fast asleep, Madhu hit him with a dumbbell on the head and left the room.
After fleeing from the room, Madhu called up their common friends and told them about the incident.
The friends informed police who shifted the body to hospital for autopsy.
A case was registered against Madhu and investigation is on.
Police could not tell the exact reason behind the argument between the duo but suspect that they had a quarrel over sharing food among themselves.
