Salar Jung Museum goes fully solar

The Salar Jung Museum has gone fully solar. The museum authorities have set up a 500 KW solar plant on its roof- top set up at a cost of Rs 2.20 crore after 30 per cent subsidy from the Ministry of Non Renewable Energy.

The plant in now on the trial run and would be fully functional within a month. The plant will help the power bills drop by Rs 7-8 lakh. With the museum’s power consumption close to 4,900 units per day the monthly power bills of Salar Jung Museum is about Rs 12-13 lakh. The 500 KW solar plant is expected to generate up to 2600 units a day.
