The onscreen mother, of Zaira Wasim, Sakshi Tanwar has also come out to support her. Zaira who has been trolled for meeting J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti is supported by all the celebrities like Aamir Khan, Anupam Kher, Shraddha Kapoor, Javed Akhtar and Swara Bhaskar.
Sakshi said. “Zaira has achieved all this success totally on the basis of her talent and hard work and nothing can take away from her. I just want her to know that she should not be ashamed of anything. We are all very proud of her.”
The younger GeetaPhogat in Dangal apologized on social media for “offending” and “unintentionally hurting” people. She also talked about her performance in Dangal, saying she was “not proud of” what she is doing and that she should not be the role model for the youth of Kashmir.
“I hope people still remember that I’m just a 16-year-old girl and I hope you treat me accordingly… I really hope people can forgive me,” she said.
Wasim was unwittingly caught up in controversy over her meeting with Mufti in the backdrop of the unrest in the Valley.
The Bollywood stars reacted to the controversy on Twitter, calling it an act of “shame” that a kid has to apologize for her success.
Her Dangal co-star Aamir Khan said Wasim, is a role model for him and also appealed people to “leave her alone”.
