Sakshi Maharaj explained his previous offensive comment, said woman is not a machine

New Delhi: BJP leader, Sakshi Maharaj made another comment on population of India. In an attempt to explain his previous offensive comments, he said that his previous comments are intended to state that woman is not a machine.

“I said a woman is not a machine. Four wives, 40 children, three divorces, all this is not acceptable”, Maharaj said.

It is to be noted that in his previous offensive comments which he made in poll bound state, Uttar Pradesh where model code of conduct is in place, without naming Muslims, Maharaj said, “Population is increased by those who support the concept of four wives and 40 children”.

Earlier, two year ago, Maharaj said that Hindu women should have more children to counter the rise of the Muslim population. “Every Hindu woman must produce at least four children in order to protect the Hindu religion”, he said at a gathering.

Commenting on his offensive comments, Maulana Yasoob Abbas, a Muslim Cleric in Lucknow said, “This is a very derogatory statement and nothing can be done to compensate it. On one side Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about the development of entire society and on the other side Sakshi Maharaj, a member of BJP, is making such demeaning remarks which doesn’t suit his position. Also he is a saint, a Maharaj”.

Abbas further said that no religious community in the nation wants a communal division, adding that there won’t be casting of votes in the name of religion.

“It will be solely on the basis on development and progress. Whoever is working for the people will get the votes and who has kept the state blindfolded will get the results”, Abbas told ANI.
