Mumbai, March 27: The four people arrested on charges of raping a 12-year-old schoolgirl from Saki Naka were produced at the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate court on Friday.
The Saki Naka police submitted the statement given by the victim against the nine accused in the complaint, on the basis of which they have been booked. After hearing arguments from both sides the Andheri court sent the accused to judicial custody till April 9.
Meanwhile, Jamuna Prasad Sharma, 71, one of the accused, was admitted to Rajawadi Hospital on Friday afternoon after he complained of chest pain and respiratory problems. His daughter,
Maya Singh, said: “My father has already suffered two heart attacks. Since the day he was arrested, he was being taken to the hospital daily for medical check-ups. On Friday, his condition deteriorated because of which he was admitted to Rajawadi Hospital ICU.”
Meanwhile, the reports of the second medical test conducted on the girl at JJ Hospital have been given to the Saki Naka police. A team of gynaecologists at JJ examined the girl. “The girl was brought in at 6.20m and we handed over the reports to the police within an hour,” said Dr TP Lahane, dean of JJ Hospital, who refused to say any more.
Senior police inspector Samadhan Dhanedhar said, “I have not gone through the second medical test reports, so I do not have any idea what the results are.”
