Hyderabad: A 40-year-old woman from Hanamkonda in Warangal succumbed to Swine Flu. 3 deaths occurred due to H1N1 influenza virus at Gandhi Hospital since Wednesday.
The latest victim, Sajida Sultana, undergoing treatment at the state-run medical facility, died on Saturday.
According to hospital authorities, the patient was brought in a few days ago with symptoms of pneumonia. She was also suffering from health issues like hypertension and diabetes.
As reported by TOI, the other two patients, as per hospital records were, 50-year-old Babu Rao from Kothagudem who died on September 21 and 46-year-old S Swaroopa from Yadadri who succumbed to the disease on September 20. 4 deaths have occurred due to swine flu at Gandhi Hospital so far this month.
However according to Dr Sharavan Kumar, superintendent, Gandhi Hospital, all the four patients had underlying health issues and the deaths occurred due to complications that arose from those health concerns, and not primarily due to swine flu.
With these 3 deaths, the death toll in Telangana this season has reached 30.
