Sailajanath slams Jagan for linking CBI with Congress

Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath on Sunday denied the allegations that the Congress party was responsible for the CBI naming Jagan Mohan Reddy as the prime accused in the charge sheet in the disproportionate assets case.

Addressing a press conference here, Sailajanath said that the Congress party had no role to play in the investigations being done by the Central Bureau Investigation in Jagan’s disproportionate assets and other cases. He condemned YSR Congress party for linking the CBI with the Congress party. He said the CBI has been doing its investigations independently with no interference from the State or Central Government.

Sailajanath said that the State Government would accept the court’s verdict in Jagan’s assets case. He slammed the YSR Congress party for criticising the CBI probe. He said that the same leaders, who are now with the YSR Congress party, praised CBI when it gave clean chit to Jagan Mohan Reddy in Paritala Ravi’s murder case. But now they are accusing the CBI of acting at the behest of ruling Congress party, he said.

The minister also defended the land allotments in the State on the grounds that it was done to promote employment and development in the State. However, he said that the government could review the allotments in specific cases of misuse.
