Sailajanath denies having differences with JC

Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath on Tuesday dismissed reports that appeared in a section of media that he had differences with former minister J C Diwakar Reddy over the selection of candidate for the by-election of Anantapur (Urban) assembly constituency.

Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, Sailajanath condemned media reports stating that the High Command gave ticket to Rasheed Ahmad proposed by him and ignored the candidate of JC Diwakar Reddy. He said that there was no truth in report that the High Command has not considered Diwakar Reddy’s candidate.

Hailing the selection of Rasheed Ahmad by the Congress High Command, he said that the selection of candidate from minority community proves that the party never neglects services of loyal and sincere workers. He said that he would work unitedly with Diwakar Reddy to ensure the victory of Rasheed Ahmad in the ensuing by-elections.

Responding to a question that Congress party still lagged behind in the election campaign compared with opposition Telugu Desam Party, he said that the party was making sincere efforts at the ground level for the victory of party candidates, whoever it may be, in the elections. (INN)
