Legislative Affairs Minister S Sailajanath on Saturday alleged that the Telugu speaking people were being divided on regional lines for political gains.
Continuing his debate on the State Reorganisation Bill in the State Legislative Assembly, Sailajanath said that the living conditions of Telugu speaking improved only after the formation of Andhra Pradesh. He claimed that the people of Telangana, especially farmers, faced the attrocities of Nizam’s and landlords.
Sailajanath said that there were several practical difficulties in dividing the State. He said that some politicians want the division to establish their personal dominance. While accusing the YSR Congress Party of enacting “dramas” on Samaikhyandhra, he said that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao was not a hero as being project. He praised former Chief Minister late NT Rama Rao for establishing Telugu Desam Party to keep the Telugu pride high. However, he said that the present TDP was working against the ideals of NTR. (INN)
