Hyderabad, November 20: India is a secular state as per the Indian constitution and all religions enjoy equal position. Officially India neither promotes nor lets down any religion. Employees working in the government offices too need to possess secular credentials. But it has been sighted that department of police often seems to incline towards a particular religion.
Of late a clear example of misusing government post has come to the fore.
A religious programme was conducted by Police Commissioner’s personal secretary Kangala Rajkumar on the occasion of Kartika Purnaumi at Sai Baba Temple located at PHB colony. Surprisingly the invitation cards were sent by e-mail to the media institutions scanned by Public Relations Department of Commissioner Police. Police Commissioner’s PRO through the mail wished media representatives to give coverage to the programme.
The question arises that whether an invitation for a purely private religious programme can be sent by Commissioner Police office?
It is quite evident that the officers working on the sensitive posts in police department are taking undue advantage of government posts.
