Sai Baba stable, Puttaparthi normal

Putthaparthi, April 09: The authorities of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences said today that the health condition of Sathya Sai Baba remains stable.

The doctors treating the Baba said that his kidneys continue to show signs of recovery.

“The infection in the lungs is also less, although it is still a matter f concern. He continues to be on the ventilator for his respiratory support and he is on slow dialysis,” said institute director Dr AN Safaya, in a press release.

Meanwhile, the number of devotees visiting Puttaparthi increased suddenly today. All through the day in and around the Prashanthi Nilayam devotees offered prayers for the wellbeing of the Baba. In the evening, a procession was taken out by more than 500 devotees from the Prashanthi Nilayam.

Since Sai Baba has been showing signs of recovery, the mood is upbeat in Puttaparthi. The town completely returned to normalcy.

However, police continued to be on a high alert.

Several VVIPs have been visiting the hospital since morning. Non-stop prayers are being offered by devotees at all religious places in the town.

“Now we are confident that Baba will survive till 96 years as promised,” a devotee said.
