Hyderabad, February 15: Mohammad Saeed, a City-based craftsman, who is known for making articles with thermacol, has made a unique 12 feet long cricket bat with four feet handle. The eight kg bat is 20 inches wide and five inches in diameter.
“The bat was made to provide inspiration and enhance self confidence of the Team India, which is bidding to realise the dream of crores of people of the country by winning the second World Cup”, said the 52-year old Toli Chowki resident. He also said that he would take the bat to all the stadiums where the ICC World Cup matches would be played, if he gets sponsorship.
Though it was a hobby for him to make unique articles since childhood, Mr Saeed, who was in real estate business, took to this craft two years ago after the real estate boom hit the ground and till date he carved out some 60 articles. Among them, the most noteworthy was a 205-feet long Thermacol chain, for which he took almost two months. For this unique chain and other miniature articles, he found a place in the Limca Book of Records, the India Book of Records and recognition from the World Record Academy in the USA. Now he is about to find a place in the Asia Book of Records.
His thermacol articles included Jama Masjid, Charminar, Eiffel Tower, Aladdin Chirag, rail engine, steam engine, an airplane, sewing machine, bullock cart, wheel, skeleton and a gravity boll.
