Out-of-favour Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal believes that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has brought an end to mystery spinners and their varieties, which left many batsmen bamboozled over a consistent period of time.
The 37-year-old ace spinner, who has claimed 178 Test and 184 ODI wickets, struggled to find a place in the national squad after being cleared to bowl again by the ICC.
Ajmal, who missed the World Cup due to an illegal action, said that the ICC has clean bowled mystery spinners and put an end to them and their varieties, but insisted that it is not the end of the doosra, PakPassion reported.
The Doosra specialist, however, said that he int ends to bowl doosra in the future as it was cleared during the tests, and maintained that it is a delivery that he has not discarded and would remain a part of his armory in the future.
West Indies spinner Sunil Narine also came under criticism over a suspected illegal bowling action during last year’s Champions League Twenty20 in India and more recently in the Indian Premier League. (ANI)
