Sadhvi Pragya in critical condition, withdraws bail plea

Key accused in Malegaon blast case, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, has withdrawn her bail petition which she had filed in the Bombay High Court. While hearing Thakur’s application on July 18, a High Court judge had orally rejected her bail petition filed on health grounds in which she stated she suffers from lumber spondylitis and needs to undergo an operation. The judge, however, asked the National Investigating Agency to ensure that she gets good treatment.

Doctors in Mumbai confirmed that Sadhvi was suffering from III stage of breast cancer. She was admitted to Swami Vivekanand regional spine centre in Bhopal after she complained of severe pain in her spinal cord. Her condition is said to be critical. Keeping in view her health condition the Supreme Court has recently restrained the NIA from quizzing Pragya in connection with Sunil Joshi murder case.

The report of her illness was made public by her brother-in-law Bhagwan Jha who had held the government and police responsible for her condition.
