Sadhvi to be shifted to Mumbai from Nashik for treatment

Mumbai, August 27: A special MCOCA court today directed for Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, to be shifted from Nashik to Mumbai for treatment for lumps on her right breast.

The sadhvi has been lodged at the Nashik central prison after the special court in July last year dropped all MCOCA charges from the case.

However, the Bombay High Court in July this year applied the stringent provisions of MCOCA back in the case following which all the 11 arrested accused were directed to be shifted back to Mumbai.

However, Thakur filed an application before the court seeking permission to be lodged at the Nashik prison citing treatment for the lump on her breast as the reason.

“It has not yet been determined if the lumps are malignant.
