Sacrificial animals arrive in the city

Hyderabad, November 5: Sacrificial animals continue to arrive in the city from various states and districts on the occasion of Eid-ul Azha. The sacred Islamic obligation of sacrifice will begin from Monday but the arrival and sale of sacrificial animals have begun long before. Animals of various types and colours are being sold in the city.

Although the rates of sheep are very high at present still their purchase is going on. Animals of Rayalseema and Telangana are in full demand since the said animal would be healthy and its skin would be fine-looking.

The initial cost of the sheep ranges from 4000 to 8000 rupees which may contain the meat from 7 to 14 kgs.

Hopefully more number of sheep will arrive close to Eid day i.e. on Sunday and the rates will consequently come down.

But with the arrival of sacrificial animals in the city, traffic police staff has become active and the sellers of sacrificial animals are being harassed by them by issuing challans. Though there is no ban on slaughter of sheep and goats but the sellers of sacrificial animals at Sayeedabad, Mehdipatnam, Chandrayangutta and Moghalpura are bothered by the police excesses.
