Hyderabad: Study Circle of Tameer-e-Millat organized a symposium on Sunday on “Seventy years of Independence and the status of Muslims”. Mr. Syed Jaleel Ahmed, President of Tameer-e-Millat presided over the symposium.
Mr. Mohammed Omer Ahmed Shafeeq, General Secretary of Tameer-e-Millat told that freedom fighters like Sirajud Dowla, Tippu Sultan, Ashfaqullah Khan, Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz of Delhi, Hasrat Mohani and others raised their voices against the British. In deccan, revolts against the British took place 92 times. In Aurangabad, in 1857, 20 Muslims were hanged at Kala Chabutra. He advised the Muslims to come forward in the field of education, especially in Civil Services.
Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Engineer told that after the independence of India a specific sect. has been ruling. He attributed the backwardness of the Muslims to the absence of think tank. He advised the Muslims to work with Dalits.
Mr. Sikandar Ali told that our backwardness is due to our ignorance with Quran. Qari Mohammed Suleman conducted the meeting and proposed vote of thanks.
