Lieutenant Hodson who conquered Delhi twice, writes that they received a telegram from Delhi which stated ‘1857 revolt’ was actually revolt of Muslims. They were ordered to hang men in beard and skull cap wherever they found. He stated that every man in beard and skull cap was targeted and hanged without trial. Colonel James Neill writes in his book that he was proud to hang hundreds of Indians without trial.

Ulama’s were stitched alive in pigs’ skin. Muslim ulamas who gave fatwa against pork were forced to eat pork. These are the sacrifices made by Muslims ulamas. Of the 51,200 people hanged during 1857 uprising, 27000 were Ulamas alone.
Groover & Groover writes in his book, when Bhagat Singh was asked by a Britisher. These people (Muslims) ruled you for 800 years but you never threw bomb on them and we ruled you for just 150 years and you hurled bomb at us. Bhagat Singh replied, they ruled our country and made our country ‘golden bird’ and you ruled our country and looted everything.
The greatest loss was born by the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar. Veer Savarkar writes that Britishers shot at two sons and a grandson of Bahadur Shah Zafar and their severed heads were brought before Bahadur Shah Zafar.
