Dismissed head constable of Police Transport Organization (PTO) Gireesh Sharma said he would organize a bike rally all over the State on Police Martyrs Day on October 21. The objective was to bring about necessary reforms for welfare of police constables by setting up ‘All India Police Federation’, he added.
Speaking to mediapersons, Sharma said though he was sacked by the Director General of Police, he was determined to work for welfare of lower grade police personnel. Criticizing the attitude of higher Police authorities in dismissing or suspending police constables for trivial mistakes on duty, he suggested that the department initiate disciplinary action or give simple punishment like asking them to work overtime. He expressed his concern over the plight of the families of suspended police constables, who were living under miserable conditions for years.
He also said that he would release a video CD on the existing irregularities in the police department.
