SACK SABITA & BRING SHANKAR RAO ATTACKERS TO BOOK: IDCR-AP

Hyderabad, December 30:Demanding that Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy immediately quit the Cabinet for orchestrating physical attack on senior Dalit minister Dr P. Shankar Rao recently, the Indian Dalitha Christian Rights-Andhra Pradesh has appealed to the Secretary of SC, ST Commission secretary to initiate action against the culprits.

Submitting a memorandum to the SC, ST Commission Secretary, AP, here, the IDCR-AP national president Perike Varaprasadarao bemoaned that the Congress governments in the State and at the Centre remained indifferent even as insults and heinous attacks were taking place in various parts of the country on the Dalits. Demanding that the Home Minister resign from the Cabinet without wasting a minute for her complicity in the heinous attack on the Dalit minister, Varaprasadarao lamented that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s failure to intervene in the issue was very unfortunate. He also demanded that the police concerned register a case under SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act against all those who were involved in the attack on the Dalit minister.

Alleging that the Home Minister was preventing the police from registering a case against the culprits in Dr Shankar Rao attack case, Varaprasadarao demanded that the Home Minister should be sacked for her failure to help the police in bringing the culprits to book. He also alleged that Home Minister’s son Karthik Reddy and LB Nagar Congress legislator Sudheer Reddy were brain behind the attack on Dr Shankar Rao in NTR Nagar under LB Nagar Assembly constituency. He also alleged that one Santosh Reddy, who had obscene posters against Dr Shankar Rao displayed at NTR Nagar on that day frequently stays in the Home Minister’s residence.

The IDCR-AP leader also demanded that the government remove Sabita Indra Reddy from the Cabinet and register a case against her under SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act for her complicity in the attack on a senior Dalit minister. (NSS)
