Sack KVP, Principal Secy Acharya over APIIC-Emmar deal: KCR

Hyderabad, August 19: Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday demanded that the Government Advisor and Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao be sacked over allegations of his involvement in the APIIC-Emmar Properties deal.

Talking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, KCR also demanded action against all officials who are accused of being involved in the illegal allotment of land through the deal between the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and Emmar Properties.

KCR also named Industries and Commerce Principal Secretary BP Acharya be removed from the probe panel as he was appointed on the behest of KVP Ramachandra Rao.

The TRS chief urged the government to hand over the lands in survey number 4 to 49 under Emmar Properties to concerned landowners immediately.

He said that the Emmar Properties ‘scam’ came to light during the tenure of Telugu Desam Party. Alleging lands worth thousands of crores of rupees have changed hands in the deal, KCR said the TRS would fight for poor people, who lost their lands in the scam.

He urged Chief Minister’s intervention to solve the issue and sought justice for the erstwhile landowners who had lost out in the deal.

The TRS chief reiterated that his party would not tolerate even if one inch of land in Telangana was usurped by corrupt politicians and businesses.

He vowed that the TRS will intensify its fight until the government does justice and restore the lands to the poor.

The TRS leader said he would produce details of alleged irregularities that took place in Special Economic Zones and Hindujas to media soon.

KCR also alleged that norms have been violated in Bayyaram mines by the lessees.

He said that the government decision to grant permission for open cast mining at Manuguru mandal would affect five agency villages in Telangana region. He urged the government to order probe into open cast mining issue.
