Sachin undergoes MRI scan

Mumbai, February 21: Coming in as an unwanted deterrent for Team India after their first match in the 2011 World Cup, an injury scare surfaced for the batting’s most important cog – Sachin Tendulkar, who had to take an MRI scan due to some uneasiness in the left knee.

Sachin Tendulkar however, refrained from calling it an injury concern saying that he is fine. “I am fine. The MRI was just a precautionary measure, nothing serious”, he told reporters on Monday morning.

Indian team physio had asked Tendulkar to undergo a scan as a precaution to avoid the injury getting serious. Sachin is now expected to fly to Bangalore to join the rest of the team at the nets, preparing for Sunday’s Group B match against England.

Sachin Tendulkar has a big role to play in MS Dhoni’s plans to win the coveted World Cup and any injury scare to the star performer would force psychological and tactical pressure on the team.
