New Delhi, July 29: Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar smashed career’s fifth double ton in the second Test against Sri Lanka.
Tendulkar faced 338 deliveries and smashed 23 boundaries and a six to complete his double century.
Every time a ball faces Sachin it enters record book. The ‘God of Cricket’ is still roaring and roaring quite loud in every match. Even his performance is improving day by day with the growing age.
Cricket pundits are in dilemma to comment, which Sachin is best, the teenage curly haired one or a matured Sachin, who is at last leg of longish cricketing jouney of over two decade.
His performance in the last ten Tests was impressive. He is scoring hundred in every second innings. If it continues, the little master will soon complete his Century of International tons.
At present, Tendulkar has total 94 International centuries, 46 in ODIs and 48 in Test.
Jaqcues Kallis and Ricky Ponting are only players, who are following Sachin Tendulkar. But it will be mammoth task for both to surpass Sachin’s maximum Test hundred record. Kallis has 33 Test centuries while Ponting is way behind Sachin with 39 Test tons.
But Kallis and Ponting are also in the final stages of their game. And it is expected that trio will bid the adieu more or less same time. In such condition, Sachin’s record will be far beyond any cricketer’s reach.
However, the great batsman has not scored a triple century in a Test match yet. Sachin Tendulkar is the only batsman in the world who has double century in limited over (ODI) cricket.
