Karachi: A woman on Thursday claimed that the hitman sketch of suspect in murder of Amjad Sabri release by police resembled her son who “mysteriously disappeared”.
The renowned qawwal Amjad Sabri was gunned down by two motorbike borne gunman in Karachi town of Pakistan when the 45-year-old was heading to perform in its Ramazan transmission.
Hameeda Khatoon, a resident of Upper Gizri in Clifton claimed that the sketch of the hitman looks close to her son, Nasir who has been missing for the last 3 years.
She told the media that she had even lodged an FIR with the area police in 2014 about his son’s disappearance. She reached the Sindh High Court to file an application for the safety and recovery of her son.
The woman told Dawn, “I could not sleep the whole night after I saw that sketch on TV channels,” she said in a choked voice. “I strongly condemn the gruesome murder of Sabri saheb, but I am sure my son has nothing to do with the incident,” she added.
