UP: Sabji Mandi Mosque in Aligarh covered to prevent damage due to Holi colours

Uttar Pradesh: Days ahead of Holi, Sabji Mandi Mosque in Aligarh was covered with different types of clothing in order to preserve the decades-old building from damaging due to Holi Celebrations which is playing with colors.

Earlier this year, UP CM Yogi Adityanath had directed the officials to ensure peaceful Holi celebrations since it was on Friday to avoid any clash between the two communities and directed the authorities to cover historic structures to prevent damage due to harmful effects of Holi colors.

Holi is one of the popular and widely celebrated festivals throughout India but the harmful synthetic chemicals used in colors have been proven to be dangerous which can damage eyes, skin and lungs.

Earlier spring flowers, berries and other plants were used for making coloured Gulal which is now made using synthetic chemicals reported Abp.
