Sabitha visits Old City, reviews bandobust

Hyderabad, September 11: Home Minister P Sabitha Indira Reddy on Saturday assured the devotees that elaborate security arrangement have been made for the final Ganesh immersion procession in the twin cities on Sunday.

Talking to reporters after inspecting the security arrangements in the Old City and other areas of procession route, the Home Minister said that nearly 15,000 security personnel have been deployed across the twin cities and all steps are being taken to prevent any untoward incident. She appealed to the common people to maintain peace and communal harmony in the city.

Sabitha Reddy also instructed the police top brass to closely monitor the situation and do not tolerate any lapses in ensuring security and peace in the city. Accompanied by the city police commissioner AK Khan and South Zone DCP Srikanth, she visited several areas to review the arrangements.

Meanwhile, the city police has intensified the security and vigil further. Check posts have been set up at important junctions and the common people have been advised to immediately inform the police if they find any suspicious object or person.
