Sabitha, leaders meet Guv against Pranahitha design change

A delegation of all political parties led by former Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy today called on Governor ESL Narasimhan and urged him to stall the proposed design change of Pranahitha Chevella project. Those who met the Governor include Telugu Desam leader Prakash Goud, MLAs Vivek, Rammohan Redy and leaders of BJP (M Anjaiah Yadav) , CPI (N Bala Mallesh, P Narsing Rao and P Jangaiah), and YCP leader Konda Raghava Reddy.

They brought to the notice of the Governor that the design change will only hamper the interests of drinking and irrigation waters in Ranga Reddy and other districts. Later, talking to media persons at Raj Bhavan, Sabitha stated the TRS Government is trying to hoodwink the people in the name of design change. ‘We have urged the Governor to direct the Chief Minister K Chandraekhar Rao to abstain from changing the design which is of no use. Instead of changing the design, the chief minister should exert pressure on the Centre for according national status to the project for speedy completion’ she suggested.

KCR’s plan to make some changes in the existing design is aimed at looting peoples’ money, she alleged. The political parties will exert pressure on the government against the proposal if the government failed to maintain status quo, she said. She warned that the leaders will not hesitate to take up a massive protest in this regard. The former minister also sought that the TRS Government should focus on welfare and development instead.(NSS)
