NEW DELHI: Communist Party of India – Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury sees a similar pattern between Sabarimala temple, and the demolition of Ayodhya’s Babri Masjid in 1992.
“The pattern is..very similar,” Yechury told reporters on Friday. “At the time of the Babri Masjid’s demolition, you have the heads of the volunteers wearing the saffron bands…the same dress that you found [there then]…[a] similar thing is being done here.”
“It’s an organised thing that the RSS [the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh] is doing”, he said.

Yechury said “Hindu women” being denied their rights — endorsed by the Supreme Court in a historic judgment last month– to enter into the embattled Sabarimala shrine.
“So when it comes to Hindu women, why this inequality?” Yechury asked. “Why are they practising these double standards?” the India Today quoted Yechury as saying.
