Saba Fatima of Hyderabad rescued from Saudi Arabia, denies torture by employer’s family

Hyderabad: Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia rescued Saba Fatima, the 24-year-old Hyderabadi woman who had earlier complained of brutality by Kafil’s (employer’s) family.

According to the news published in TOI, after getting rescued, Saba Fatima told that she was not tortured by anyone. However, she said that she wants to come back to India.

Based on her request, exit visa is being arranged by Indian Embassy.

Amjed Ullah Khan Khalid, MBT leader had earlier written to Ms. Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister explaining the brutality being meted out to Saba Fatima.

It may be mentioned that Ms. Saba is a resident of Khaja Pahadi, Tadban of Hyderabad. Local agents had recruited her for beautician’s job but she was forced to work as a housemaid there.

Earlier, she told her sister, Parveen Fatima that a few months after she left for Saudi Arabia, the family of the employer started harassing her. She also complained that kafil’s family had poured boiling oil on her body.

However, while speaking to the Indian Embassy Officials, she said that cooking oil had fallen on her body accidentally while she was cooking in the month of Ramadan. She further said that Kafil had made arrangement for her treatment and allowed her to take rest.
