Saamana compares Pawar with Hafiz Saeed

Shiv Sena has compared NCP chief Sharad Pawar with 26/11 mastermind and JuD chief Hafiz Saeed after the former Union minister blamed the rising incidents of communal violence in Maharashtra to the ascent of Narendra Modi as the country’s prime minister.

“The incident in Pune is the responsibility of the state government. By blaming Modi, Pawar is making himself a laughing stock. Just like Hafiz Saeed, he should not shoot off his mouth and try to maintain a little bit of dignity still left with him,” read an editorial in Sena mouthpiece Saamana.

Addressing NCP workers Sunday, Pawar had said the atmosphere in the state was increasingly turning communal after the NDA came to power at the Centre.

The Saamana editorial further took a swipe at Pawar and claimed that the poll defeat seems to have affected the NCP chief. “It is difficult to predict what Sharad Pawar will say and when. After their abject defeat in the state he seems to have lost his bearings. There was a killing in Maharashtra. How is Modi government responsible for it? This state is ruled by Pawar; the state home minister is from his party. This killing is the failure of his government,” the editorial stated.
