Urdu Journalist association Andhra Pradesh hosted a felicitation programme of Prof. Syed Abdul Shukoor head of the department of Urdu, Nizam College on being appointed as Director Secretary Urdu Academy Andhra Pradesh at association office Kattalmandi. The programme was chaired by association president Alhaj Osman Rasheed editor ‘Mahengai’ daily while general secretary Ahmed Siddiqui Mukesh convened the programme.
Mr. Syed Osman Rasheed praised the move of the government for appointing Prof. S A Shukoor as Director Secretary Urdu Academy and termed it promising for Urdu people.
Prof. Abdul Shukoor in his speech paid tribute to the services of Urdu newspapers and promised to give every possible help to small newspapers and magazines of Urdu.
