Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday informed the Telangana State Legislative Assembly that the State Government has been implementing Rythu Bandhu scheme for the benefit of farmers across the State.
Replying to a question raised by MLA N Divakar Rao and others during Question Hour, the minister said that the State Government issued orders, vide GO Ms No 5, Agriculture & Cooperation, (Mktg.II) Department , Dt: 09-07-2014, for enhancement of pledge loan from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh of 7.5% of the value of the pledged stock.
As many as 10,416 farmers are benefitting from the scheme. They include 4,481 from Nalgonda; 2,791 from Nizamabad; 2,522 from Khammam; 344 from Warangal, 81 from Karimnagar; 74 from Mahaboobnagar; 49 from Rangareddy; 41 from Adilabad; 29 from Hyderabad and four from Medak district. (INN)
